The Police Department and the YMCA have provided this training to more than 3,000 people in Estes Park to date – including staff and clients of the Town of Estes Park, the Library, the School, Rocky Mountain National Park, the YMCA, and several local churches. Although the chances of an armed attack in any one location are small, the YMCA and the Police Department consider it prudent to provide this training in Estes Park because we receive here more than four million visitors a year. They also consider it important, and they are offering it free.
The training is open to all interested parishioners, including middle- and high-school students with a parent or with a parent’s signed permission. We especially encourage ushers, greeters, church staff, and religious-education teachers and volunteers to attend this training if they can. The program will begin promptly at six-thirty.
